SAIC is actively seeking a MilitaryEducationPolicy Analyst to join our team in support of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness (OASD(R)) Force Education and Training (FE&T) Deputy Assistant Secretary Defense (DASD) and Chief of Staff (CoS) in Washington D.C., primarily working onsite at the Pentagon.
Job Duties:
- Support DASD (FE&T) role leading DoD Climate Change Literacy and participating in broader DOD climate change resilience activities.
- Develop educational content, training, and informational materials to promote FE&T’s Climate Change Literacy program.
- Work with Professional Military Education (PME) resources and faculty to integrate Climate Change Literacy into PME programs.
- Draft statements, testimony, responses, briefing materials, and talking points.
- Communicate DoD policies, programs, and develop positions to support internal and external Climate Literacy engagements, including the interagency, Congress, U.S. allies and partners, the media, military and veteran support organizations, and the public.
- Assist in communicating Climate Change Literacy strategic vision and mission through document editing, alignment, and review.
- Draft policy documents related to Climate Change Literacy in a variety of formats, to include memorandums and instructions. Navigate the DoD issuance process and internal OUSD(P&R) processes for coordination and publication. Coordinate with DoD-wide programs to address policy requirements.
- Review, research, analyze, and communicate the potential impacts of proposed legislation on DoD policies, programs, and positions related to the readiness of Service members and families.
- Candidate will work independently on customer site under general direction from management and will represent the organization in direct communication with customers.
Qualifications
Required Education and Clearance:
- Bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience; Master's degree and eight (8) years of experience
- Active Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Professional Military Education and Training
- Must be able to present information to SES, Political Appointees, as needed
- Experience working in a high pace, high demand tempo organization within DoD
- Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and written
- Must be a team player, quick learner, and work independently
- Must be able to work quickly and respond to tasks
