The Senior Product Owner role is a highly collaborative leader and expert in their domain, working closely with cross-functional teams to determine which customer needs should be addressed and shape how we address them. You will gather requirements from customers and business stakeholders, and partner closely with Engineering teams to translate them to technical requirements that enable development of new products and features. It is your responsibility to ensure the products that we build solve for the most important customer needs in the most effective way.
Outcomes and Activities:
- This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.
- Partner with multiple engineering teams to enhance and manage internal or external products.
- Partner with internal and external customers to understand their needs and execute on value-added work to increase richness and usability of our products.
- Serve as the "voice of the customer" to the delivery team by representing and reinforcing the customer's perspective throughout product realization cycles.
- Partner with a cross-functional team of analysts, architects, engineers, testers, and others to develop and execute against product roadmaps and release plans.
- Own, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog.
- Collaborate with PMO/Agile to prioritize and maintain the product roadmap.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with subject matter experts, analysts, data scientists, and technology teams across Credit Acceptance to support our products.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for the data product and related data domains owned by the teams.
- Break down features into detailed stories consumable and testable by an agile team.
- Accept and review completed stories with a focus on product quality.
- Communicate release notes and product news and demo product changes to stakeholders.

- 4+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role. (Mid Level)
- 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Technical Product Manager, Business Analyst, or similar role. (Senior)
- 4+ years of experience in a related product/industry. (Mid Level)
- 8+ years of experience in a related product/industry.
- Experience working closely with (and orchestrating across) engineering teams to deliver innovative digital products.
- In-depth knowledge of scrum and agile software development methodology.
- Proven ability to scope and author comprehensive business and technical product requirements.
- Strong analytic skills and instinct for success measurement/monitoring of delivered products.
- Demonstrated ability to be a highly functioning and influential leader on high-performing cross-functional teams.
- Deeply curious, open-minded, and creative thinker who loves to explore new areas and determine opportunities and recommend solutions.
- Excellent ability to communicate clear and consistent direction to team members, and to lead, motivate, and supervise project and/or working teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to learn, communicate, and influence across multiple disciplines.
- Proven ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or an analytical field
- Experience and understanding of consumer auto financing (or similar credit/lending business)
- Experience developing fintech products
