Job Description
A Microbiologist position is available at one of the world's best flavor and fragrance companies! Safety Responsibilities
- Support deliberate improvement in Safety, Health, Environmental and Housekeeping Performance (6S)
- Ensure 100% compliance of assigned EHS requirements, safe completion of life critical activities, process safety, food safety and quality standards
Function Management
- Continually and deliberately identify and implement improvements in works systems, processes and personal development and as assigned in the achievement of department and/or shift KPI targets
- Ensure 100% individual training requirements are met and train other personnel as required by Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager
- Ensure preventative, autonomous maintenance and equipment sanitation work practices are executed as required by department
- Report test results in a timely manner and maintain accurate records of all test results
- Develop, evaluate and update ISO/QMS procedures as necessary
- Provide training on microbiology testing methods
- Provide technical support to other groups as needed
- Provide support and back-fill during technician absences
- Conduct tests to help investigate and resolve customer complaints, support development of new product specs and/or evaluate new methods
Job Requirements
Knowledge including: education, qualifications and training
- Degree in microbiology preferred.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Basic knowledge of Windows, with word processing skills.
- Basic statistics knowledge preferred.
- Basic carrageenan or hydrocolloid chemistry and processing knowledge preferred.
- Familiar with ISO quality system preferred.

Experience
- At least one year micro lab experience (food/industrial/chemical/medical) preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
