Location/Division Specific Information

Tech Support - Labs

Richmond, VA

Note: Full time, Benefits, Annual Bonus, 401k Match, PTO,

 

A day in the Life:

 

Provides maintenance and project setups for various laboratory instrumentation and equipment for LC/MS assays with occasional direction from senior staff. Maintenance includes installation, routine and remedial maintenance, calibration and/or qualification. Management includes logistics, coordination & support of vendor engineers as well as technical review of service report. You will perform and document work in accordance with standard operating procedures and established maintenance schedules to meet regulatory requirements. You will also work with lab staff to schedule maintenance and train others on equipment/operations as needed while working onsite at the client lab facility. The LC/MS assays setups will require the physical plumbing of the LC equipment and method creation per the assay's requirements, along with the calibration of the mass spectrometer to the compound(s) being analyzed.

 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science field or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 1+ years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Understanding of FDA and GLP regulations and requirements
  • Working knowledge and understanding of laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Working knowledge with systems in use at PPD or within the CRO/Pharmaceutical industry
  • Ability to train others
  • Client focused approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Trouble shooting abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, clients and all levels of staff
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
