The Program Manager - Manufacturing Test Equipment is a Shelbyville, Kentucky-based engineer that reports into our growing Operations organization. This person will Program Manage the Test Equipment and Test Processes for EnerVenue; this includes the Production Test Equipment installed in the manufacturing locations. This person should be highly skilled/hands-on with electrical battery testing and development of appropriate equipment to verify performance. He/she will be part of an operations engineering team that will develop manufacturing solutions, support standardization of sites, deploy BKMs and ECNs, support NPI activity, own start-ups, drive root cause analysis etc.

  • Act as Technical Program Manager/Advanced Manufacturing Engineer for EnerVenue Test Processes and Equipment
  • Program Manage the design, qualification, installation, start-up, and continuous improvement of the EnerVenue Test Equipment
  • Engage with all business functions including R&D, Product Engineering, Advanced Mfg Engineering, Production, Quality, and EHS
  • Be the energy storage electrical test expert for the business
  • Works with equipment developers to specify, review, and develop hardware and software for testing EnerVenue energy storage products
  • Ability to translate test requirements to scalable manufacturing equipment and drive customization of equipment and SW to support production.
  • Specifies and develops test algorithms and data analysis in collaboration with internal customers and suppliers
  • Creates production-worthy, scalable solutions for implementation across all factories.
  • Lead design, build, qualification, installation, and debug of Production Test Systems
  • Specify and deliver required training for test equipment maintenance including Spare Parts Lists
  • Investigates improvement opportunities with field engineers to modify test protocols, limits, etc.
  • Develops electrical test solutions that fulfill requirements from UL, ISO, IEC, etc. for testing batteries.
  • Interfaces with R&D, Field engineers, site teams, and equipment suppliers to assist with troubleshooting remotely and/or on-site.
    • Execute and report complete failure analysis and root cause corrective actions
    • Provides expertise and support to production site sustaining teams through onsite presence and issue solving
    • Own and resolve onsite issues that are beyond the capabilities of the local teams
  • Be the engineering bridge between HQ and field sites for information flow, fanout of ECNs, updates to equipment, etc.
  • Develop documentation to help define test protocols and architecture
  • Manage installations and upgrades with local teams at sites worldwide
  • Up to 30-40% travel, both US and international

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 7+ years of experience with working in high volume manufacturing environment supporting product testing in the battery space or equivalent
  • Must have industry knowledge of battery testing protocols, specifications, equipment, etc.
  • Must understand the workings and architecture of an ESS and how it functions with a BMS, BMU, etc.
  • Experience with BMS/BMU design and controller architecture
  • Development experience of test equipment required or equivalent
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and work through troubleshoot design problems
  • Strong commitment to goals and team-first attitude
  • Strong analytic problem-solving skills
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
    • The individual should be able to balance short-term, urgent needs with long-term strategic initiatives.
    • Detail orientation with a strong quality mindset. Enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Writes plans, co-develops procedures, and analyzes data for validation activities.
  • Working coding skills in a scripting language such as Python for data analysis and visualization
  • The candidate should ideally have previous experience in the following areas: Total Productive Maintenance, Change Control, Lean Manufacturing, Design of Experiments (DOE), and Design/Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), statistical methods, and six sigma methodologies.
  • Clear verbal, written, and presentation skills, and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all business levels and functions

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or related technical degree. Advanced degree preferred.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $150,000
