Merchandising Vendor Specialist

This position works within the Merchandising Department. Primarily responsible for supporting relationships with key vendors and managing vendor products and related information in the ERP system.

This role is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of products, and resolving system and product issues as they arise. They actively support management and colleagues via problem solving, training and company support.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Vendor Business Management: work closely with assigned vendors to build and establish relationships and maintain vendor information in the ERP system
• Communicate and meet regularly with vendor contacts to stay informed of updates and new product announcements.
• Obtain and update vendor compliance information, including: Certificates of Insurance, State Regulation Warnings, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Vendor Record Updates, and EDI Vendor Product Assortment
• Create, maintain, update and organize product information for assigned vendors, including: new product entry, pricing updates, part numbers, descriptions, settings, ordering controls, etc.
• Work closely with Curtis teams to maintain cooperative contract and customer contract pricing in the ERP
• Problem solve internal and external customer queries related to: products, pricing, orders, sourcing, system issues, and more.
• Liaise between vendors and Curtis team members for resolution of vendor and product discrepancies.
• Communicate with Curtis teams to keep them informed of vendor and product related updates and announcements
• Other duties as assigned by management to address and provide effective support of company mission, values and goals.

Skills Required

• Microsoft Excel: advanced skills verified by exam.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Outlook and Word.
• Excellent over the phone and by email customer service skills.
• Exceptional organization skills and ability to put order into files, procedures, processes, etc.
• Motivated to always improve both personally and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Experience Required

• High School Diploma.
• 2+ years’ experience with complex data management processes involving Excel.
• 2+ years’ experience in a customer service role.

Experience Preferred

• 2+ years’ experience within a team responsible for merchandising, buying and planning for 20,000+ products: pricing, new setup, vendor info, images, descriptions, etc.
• 2+ years’ experience in a team providing great internal customer service over the phone and by email.
• 2+ years’ experience working with Excel to manage product information and upload key information into an ERP system.
• 2+ years’ experience working in small teams for a mid-size company.
• Completed college level courses.
