The Mental Health Tech creates a safe environment for clients, provides direct supervision of clients, empowers clients, and teaches new tools for coping to clients . The Mental Health Tech provides direct client care under the supervision of a Unit Supervisor & Registered Nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

Qualifications
Position Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; high school diploma required.
- One-year experience working with a psychiatric client population preferred
- Must possess knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, Verbal De-Escalation, Handle with Care and CPR training.
- Prefer knowledge of effective teaching skills and educational strategies with a special education population, individual and group management skills, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development; limit setting and crisis and behavior management.
