Mental Health Billing Specialist

We are looking for a Mental Health Billing Specialist to set up billing processes for our outpatient Mental Health clinic that is just starting to grow.

Must have experience billing in the Mental Health field and must be able to work well with a team. Must be well versed in billing self pay and a variety of commercial insurances as well as Medicaid. Experience using Simple Practice and Therapy Notes is preferred!

Duties:

Work with Our Administrative team to develop procedures related to billing (self pay and insurance/Medicaid), scheduling, and A/R to use for the practice.

Assist our team in setting up billing, scheduling and documentation (EHR) app

Assist in developing a process for once Therapists are credentialed

Develop instruction manual on how to determine what insurance covers, how to bill each insurance, any requirements for documentation (for Clinicians), how to handle denials and Accounts Receivable processes.

Experience Required:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in billing self pay, insurance and Medicaid as well as credentialing, in a Mental Health outpatient clinic setting
- Knowledge of credentialing processes, standards, and regulations
- Familiarity with provider enrollment and payer enrollment processes
- Proficient in using billing and credentialing software systems and databases
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

This is a temporary contract (1099) position that can be completed remotely. Hours are flexible though some work will occur during Monday through Friday hours when Insurance companies are available to contact.
