About Neurodiagnostic Institute: 

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness. 
Together the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers. 
 

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Ensures proper assessment of children placed in residential facilities or receiving other therapeutic services and works with partner agencies to identify goals and establish timetables and plans to meet the child's treatment objectives.
  • Administers and evaluates psychological tests and makes recommendations for services and/or ensures appropriate therapeutic interventions are being administered.
  • Evaluates cases to identify therapeutic treatment and service needs, which may include placement, of children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and/or neglect and placed under the agency's supervision.
  • Consults with agency staff and attorneys regarding the assessment and therapeutic treatment of children and adolescents.
  • Reviews medications being administered to children and consult with the appropriate psychiatrist when questions arise.
  • May administer, assess or evaluate psychological assessments and/or review therapeutic interventions of parents for the purpose of developing or ensuring a holistic approach to address family needs and support the long-term safety needs of children.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirement to be considered for employment:

  • Current Indiana clinical licensure (Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or Health Services Provider in Psychology (HSPP) required.
  • Clinical work experience with children and/or families preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principles of Mental Health and/or social work, state and federal laws, policies and regulations related to the administration of therapeutic services.
  • Knowledge of the characteristics and social aspects of mental and emotional disturbances and developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the scope and activities of local and private health and welfare agencies and community organizations.
  • Working knowledge of assessment and prognosis relative to children's Mental Health needs.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based counseling and psychotherapeutic interventions for children and adolescents based on their individual needs.
  • Ability to respond supportively and empathetically to emotionally disturbed children from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others.
  • Ability to obtain accurate social data, to record such data systematically and to write clear, accurate and concise reports with realistic and meaningful recommendations.
  • Ability to make independent clinical judgments.
  • Ability to evaluate client treatment needs and collaborate with community-based and residential staff to develop an effective course of action.
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Valid driver's license and access to transportation.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
