What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain relationships with members by providing superior customer service.
• Handles various member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing, and mail transactions.
• Resolves member inquiries. Assists members on all credit union products and services, including payroll deduction, account reconciliation, card services, internet branch, bill pay, etc.
• Handles telephone calls, both outbound and inbound, with courtesy and proficiency.
• Cross sells credit union services.
• Opens and closes accounts and shares.
• Sells money orders and gift cards; assists with inventory control of those items.
• Processes Visa cash advances and line-of-credit advances, as well as official checks.
• Processes accounting transactions as necessary, including general ledger receipts and general ledger disbursements.
• Maintains and balances cash drawer on a daily basis.

What You’ll Need

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a financial institution or retail background with cash handling, sales, and customer service experience
• Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred
• Previous knowledge of banking and financial systems is a plus
• Practical knowledge of office equipment, such as PC, adding machine, copier and fax machine
• The ability to handle stress and respond to members’ questions in a professional manner
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

Physical Qualifications

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit for long periods; walk frequently; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
