The Native Collective Research Effort to Enhance Wellness: Addressing Overdose, Substance Use, Mental Health, and Pain Program (subsequently referred to as N CREW) is funded by NIH’s Helping to End Addiction Long-term® (HEAL) Initiative, which bolsters research across NIH to improve (1) prevention and treatment for opioid misuse and addiction, and (2) pain management. The Meeting Planner is a full-time position primarily responsible initial concept development and planning for how to support partnership development, early planning activities (e.g., agenda development, planning and design of meeting content and format, venue selection, reservations, budgeting, event file establishment and maintenance); graphic design support (e.g., signage and materials production); participant correspondence; registration; travel and guest services.

**THIS POSITION IS FOR DMV BASED AND ONLY APPLICANTS WHO RESIDE IN THIS AREA WILL BE CONSIDERED**
General Duties:
- Develop Meeting plans, including planned content and communication approaches that support partnership development for Teaming Meetings.
- Establish site selection, and meeting contract negotiation and coordination.
- Provide onsite support before, during, and after in-person/hybrid meetings.
- Determine registration and logistics, including hospitality.
- Coordinate travel and transportation for agency-designated participants and materials.
- Execute Event set-up, including site requirements and audiovisual, electronic, and Web support.
- Provide secretarial and clerical support, including transcription and records management.
- Supply services, equipment, parts, accessories, staffing, labor, climate control, and power needs required for installation of non-permanent and temporary exposition and exhibition space, including but not limited to rental and installation of canopies and tents; and
- Maintain file maintenance, records management, and event archiving.
Qualifications:
- Must be in DMV area with reliable transportation.
- Must have experience securing venues, transportation, and other meeting logistics.
- Certified Meeting Planner preferred.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office products.
Required Education and Experience:
- Background investigation required.
- Security Clearance required.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 3-5 years of meeting planning experience.
- Experience working with Tribal or Native American serving organizations preferred.
- Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work a variety of hours.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
