We’re actively seeking a talented Meeting Planner to join our Meeting and Events team in Newport Beach, CA. This role can be on-site or hybrid.
As a Meeting Planner, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by collaborating with stakeholders to improve the effectiveness of our meetings and conferences. You will fill an existing role and be part of a 13 person team in the Consumer Markets Division. Your colleagues will include Meeting Planners, promo, and recognition specialists. Working closely with this team you will drive results by delivering meetings, conferences and events that meet our strategic goals.
How you will make an impact:
Management of all meeting elements such as creating and submitting RFPs for venues, virtual platform sourcing/contracting, recruitment and registration, event order development, rooming lists, audio-visual, air and ground travel, materials management and shipping, onsite or virtual logistics management, budget management and post program reporting and reconciliations
Develop and maintain project timelines, internal budgets, ongoing financial reconciliations, progress reports, and responses to requests as required by the scope of the project
Monitor all contract terms, schedule of deliverables, budgets, forecast expenses, contract-related correspondence for assigned meetings and projects
Identify operational challenges and determine how best to work with colleagues and clients to solve the challenges or develop alternative solutions
Provide excellent customer service as this position acts as an ambassador for Pacific Life interacting with Sr. Management, high-level producers, field employees, and internal customers.
The experience you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Excellent presentation, facilitation, organizational and execution skills
Effective communication skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to anticipate issues and work ahead to ensure tasks are completed
Ability to multitask in high-demand, high-volume environment

Extensive understanding of hospitality industry, how it operates, how it is organized and how to manage through the system efficiently and effectively
Creativity and effective strategic thinking. Ability to “think outside the box” and be a change agent
Experience with event online registration software

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$89,100.00 - $108,900.00
