Medical Scribe acts as an assistant during the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Documents and gathers information during the treatment process. Being a Medical Scribe organizes healthcare data to provide better service and efficiency of clinical care. Typically requires an associate's degree. Additionally, Medical Scribe typically reports to a physician, may require certification (ACCIM) American College of Clinical Information Managers. The Medical Scribe gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Works under moderate supervision. Typically requires 1-3 years' experience.
Responsibilities:
- Medical Scribe
- Assist with the team to room patients and obtain a medical history
- Document all patient appointments and enter charges as instructed by physician
- Pre-load charts into EHR and assist Medical Assistants with chart preparation
- Obtain authorization for in-office procedure diagnostics and therapeutics
- Assist physician with in-office procedure documentation and related tasks
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe
- Fast learner with 'can-do' attitude
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Previous experience working in a Medical Office
- Previous experience with EHR
- Maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service at all times
- Strong communication and written language skills

Pay Scale/Ranges:
$15.00-$25.00/hour (and the hourly equivalent for salaried employees).*
