We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Scheduler. As a Medical Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient scheduling of patient appointments. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced medical office environment.
```Responsibilities```
- Schedule patient appointments using medical scheduling systems
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure availability for appointments
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding appointments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the electronic medical records system
- Verify insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal patient care
```Qualifications```
- Previous experience working in an office or administrative role, preferably in a medical setting
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and terminology
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software, including electronic medical records. Athena experience is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes
