Medical Records Clerk (Law Firm)

Personal Injury Law Firm seeks a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Records Clerk. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of medical terminology, regulations governing Medical Records, confidentiality protocols, and HIPAA compliance. Experience in Medical Records management is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Request relevant Medical Records and bills from various healthcare providers.
• Ensure timely retrieval of Medical Records and bills to meet case deadlines.
• Review Medical Records and bills meticulously for accuracy, identifying any missing providers or dates of service.
• Create and maintain a comprehensive medical index containing provider information, dates of service, and other pertinent details.
• Scan and properly organize Medical Records, ensuring accurate filing into our shared database.
• Communicate with third-party payers such as health insurance companies, Medicare, Medi-Cal, Tri-Care, etc., as necessary.
• Enter relevant medical information and billing data into our case management software with precision.
• Facilitate the delivery of Medical Records to interested parties involved in the legal process.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with regulations governing Medical Records.
• Strict adherence to confidentiality protocols, HIPAA compliance, and ethical standards.
• Exceptional organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with team members.
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a relaxed, friendly office environment.
• Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.

Pay: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
