Job Description
Daily Responsibilities of a Medical Records Clerk:
- The chart retrieval specialist prepares patients’ Medical Records for scanning into the electronic medical record system. This process includes taking the chart apart, removing staples and paper clips, making legible copies, and researching medical record numbers in various systems.
- The chart retrieval specialist is accountable for the accurate and efficient collection of patient medical information.
- They have over 1300 patient charts that need to be scanned from paper to their EMR system. Typically, it takes about 5-10 minutes to do one chart.
Requirements for a Medical Records Clerk:
- High School Diploma / GED
- 6 months of experience scanning/charting Medical Records
- Experience with any EMR System
Hours for this Position:
- Monday – Friday, 8:00am to 5pm
