We are a Nationwide Legal Intake Center that collaborates closely with renowned Law Firms across the country on Mass Tort Claims. As a Legal Assistant, you will be an integral part of our elite Client interaction team, serving as a case contact management representative on behalf of our law firms. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Records Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in obtaining comprehensive Medical Records to support our clients' cases and secure life-changing settlements.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Interviews:
- Conduct brief interviews with plaintiffs in tort law cases for completeness of their medical history, diagnosis, medications, and treatment details.
- Obtain a comprehensive list of healthcare professionals, specialists, and facilities involved in the plaintiff's medical care.
2. Record Gathering:
- Contact healthcare providers, doctors, and their offices to request and obtain relevant Medical Records on behalf of the law firm.
- Ensure the collection of complete and accurate medical documentation to build a strong case for our clients.
3. Documentation and Organization:
- Maintain meticulous records of all communication, obtained Medical Records, and patient information in a secure and organized manner.
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure all required information is gathered and prepared for case presentations.
4. Communication:
- Effectively communicate with plaintiffs, medical professionals, and internal legal teams to ensure a smooth and efficient record retrieval process.
- Provide regular updates on progress and any challenges faced during the record collection process.
5. Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough reviews of obtained Provider Information.
- Flag any discrepancies or missing information and work proactively to address issues.
Qualifications:
1. Educational Background:
- Medical background or relevant healthcare education preferred.
2. Experience:
- Prior experience in ordering Medical Records or related roles, with a preference for individuals with backgrounds in hospital office management, patient care advocacy, Hospital Unit coordination, LPNs and Medical Assistants.
3. Detail-Oriented:
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in record collection and documentation.
4. Self-Driven:
- Ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks to meet deadlines.
5. Communication Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with plaintiffs, medical professionals, and internal teams.
6. Leadership Experience:
- Previous leadership experience in medical settings is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
