Kennebec Pharmacy & Home Care has an immediate opening for a CPAP Liaison at our Auburn location! Competitive pay, benefits and generous PTO! This is a Monday-Friday 8-5 position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Receptionist is responsible for assisting and cashing out our customers in the store; answering and directing phone calls and faxes to the appropriate departments; and other supporting duties as assigned. This is a Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS for the Medical Receptionist/Cashier:
• Greets customers entering the retail store, determines the nature and purpose of their visit, and directs them to specific destinations or contacts the appropriate staff member to assist.
• Operates and maintains a POS cash register system and credit card machines, receiving payments via cash or credit card, and processing refunds as needed.
• Keeps cash drawer well-stocked with change and ensures cash handling processes are followed.
• Maintains clean and orderly reception area, and alerts janitor if special attention is needed.
• Contacts clients to notify them that the order is ready for pick-up.
• Organizes and monitors DME closet and hallway shelving area to ensure easy retrieval of customer orders and to alert appropriate staff of orders that have not been picked up in a timely manner.
• Stocks/maintains the copier and postage machine, ordering supplies and calling for repairs as needed.
• Processes incoming and outgoing mail.
• Prepares daily on-call notification and distributes it to the answering service.
• Checks local obituaries daily and updates patient records accordingly.
• Prepares daily cash-up and corrects any transaction errors.
• Processes NSF checks for Finance Department.
• Back-up to the phone receptionist, answering calls in a polite, friendly, and professional manner.
• Solicits enough information from the caller to route the call to the appropriate individual or department.
• Routes incoming faxes to appropriate individual or department.
• Utilizes Touch and Go software to keep track of staff members location and availability.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES for the Medical Receptionist/Cashier:
• Maintains patient confidentiality and rights.
• Maintains professional appearance and conduct at all times.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED for the medical Receptionist/Cashier:
• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• 2+ years experience operating POS cash register system.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent computer skills.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Experience using multi-line phone system.
