Medical Front Office Receptionist position available at Lux Dermatology.

This person must be capable of maintaining the Front Office efficiently and amiably. Must be knowledgeable in admission procedures and have a working knowledge of insurance, medical terminology, and medical records systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum three years’ continuous Medical Front Office experience required
• Must have strong experience in medical insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Must be knowledgeable in medical terminology and admission procedures and have a working knowledge of medical insurance and electronic health records.
• Graduate of a medical office specialist/receptionist or healthcare administration program preferred.

Responsibilities:

Medical Front Office Receptionist position available at Lux Dermatology. Three years of Medical Front Office experience with a strong emphasis on medical insurance verification and prior authorizations.

Primary duties include:

• Ensures efficient patient flow throughout the check-in/check-out process by greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling appointments, verifying all insurances, processing referrals, obtaining authorizations, scanning new patient information forms, scheduling surgeries, preparing medical/financial charts, and entering patient data.
• Informs patients of the cost of service and collects monies from patients, including co-pays, deductibles, retail prices, and cosmetic procedures.
• Follows company policies at all times.
• Requires good listening, interpersonal and communication skills, professional, pleasant, and respectful telephone etiquette.
• Demonstrate ability to manage multiple, changing priorities in an effective and organized manner, and must be detail-oriented.
• Demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills.
• Opens and closes reception and patient check-in area.
• Practices HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times.
• Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times.
• Attends staff meetings and in-services.
