Education
High School diploma or equivalent required
Experience
Experience in a Medical Office is preferred.
Insurance verification and authorizations experience is a PLUS
Customer service, patient account representative, collections, or other comparable experience
Skills
Candidate must posses excellent customer service skills
Must be able to discuss payments and account balances with customers and collect balances appropriately
Must have a working knowledge of health insurance plans, deductibles, coinsurance, and co-pay. Must be able to verify insurance eligibility via internet and telephone as needed.
Candidate must posses the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, ability to write simple correspondence, to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to physicians, office administrator, clinic staff, and have the ability to effectively communicate with insurance carrier staff.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have experience with general computer applications and practice management systems.
Preferred experience with MediTouch, MediSoft, Centricity, Meridian, Allscripts systems
