Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Office Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Medical Office. Your primary responsibilities will include providing administrative support, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and assisting with various office tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a Medical Office setting and possess strong organizational and communication skills.
Duties:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Collect patient information, update medical records, and ensure accuracy of data
- Assist with medical billing and insurance claims processing
- Prepare rooms for patient visits and clean up after each visit
- Assist healthcare providers with basic clinical tasks as needed
- Manage inventory of office supplies and place orders when necessary
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Receptionist is preferred
- Familiarity with Medisoft or any medical software is a plus
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures is highly desirable
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
