MAKO Ohio is searching for a Medical Laboratory Tech to join our new laboratory in North Royalton, OH. This team member will be responsible for preparing patient specimens as required for laboratory testing, performing compliantly ordered laboratory tests, monitoring test results to assure test quality and validity, and communicate results in a timely manner, especially those that may be life threatening to the patient. Compliance is a must at MAKO and this team member must maintain properly documented records of activities as well as clean and maintain laboratory equipment and environment.
Job Duties:
- Oversee technical soundness of work performed.
- Meet requirements for client service performed by the department – including consultation with clients, data interpretation, and coordination of support with sample custodian.
- Participate in professional development activities, i.e. publication of papers, active participation in appropriate organizations, attend classes and seminars, etc.
- Review data and reports for accuracy, content and adherence to Company quality control policies.
- Maintains proficiency testing in all areas by evaluating necessary actions needed for compliance.
- Observes, evaluates, and documents the performance of quality control and laboratory testing for each clinical laboratory department and ensure prompt testing.
- Troubleshoots instruments and corrects problems.
- Ensures daily instrument checks and maintenance as specified by manufacturer.
What MAKOis looking for
- Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Lab Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science
- 2+ years of related experience, preferred
- ASCP preferred
- Experience in both Chemistry and Hematology strongly recommended
- Experience reading Manual Differential Blood Smears
- Experience building out a laboratory
- Self starter
- M-Sun (Schedule will vary during the initial setting up of lab - will still be FT)
Licenses & Certifications
Preferred
- Medical Technologist (MLT) or MLS
- Degree in relevant major, preferred
