Medical Industry Technical Analyst (Management Analyst 5)** This position is eligible for full time telework within Washington State.** **This posting is open until filled. Who we are looking for: Located in the Contracts and Procurement Division (C&P), the Medical Industry Technical Analyst provides expert level technical advice and consultation to help DES effectively implement effective and innovative statewide contracts related to the Medical Industry. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Some of what you will enjoy doing: Perform proactive intervention and/or provide solutions for statewide contracts with precedent setting impact in medical related industries: Provide expert-level scientific advice and consultation to help DES on navigating highly-complex Medical Industry procurements and contracts for use by state agencies.Make recommendations regarding highly complex, unprecedented issues involving organizational change, process improvement, and policy development.Act as a subject matter expert on highly-complex medical industries by researching and understanding changes in federal and statewide directives, regulations, and issues including from the Governor’s office, legislators, customer agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Assist Enterprise Contracts and Procurement Specialists (ECPS's) in statewide contract solicitation development by making recommendations regarding highly complex, unprecedented issues.Assist ECPS's in promoting medical Statewide Contracts for state agencies to utilize and improve their medical purchasing practices.Review healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical supplies laws, directives and policies, recommend updates and legislation analysis.Provide expert-level analysis and provide recommendations on green contract spend data requests, leading future healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical supplies reporting efforts and contributing to all enterprise goals and action planning;Write reports and analysis on healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical supplies purchasing for executive and legislative audiences.Serves as a division and team resource: Serve as contract analytics resource and create highly-complex reports for use by diverse groups such as the highest levels of management, boards, commissions, elected officials, and/or other governmental entities.Assist with solicitation and contract management analysis and report preparation.Participate in division outreach and presentations.Provide analysis, procedure revision, and procedure documentation support.Other duties as assigned: Perform other contract and procurement-related duties as needed.
