Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate department or individual
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient records and update information as necessary
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or other healthcare providers
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to protect patient privacy
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Eaglesoft, eClinicalWorks)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle difficult situations with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with Front Desk operations, including scheduling, insurance verification, and billing
