Title: Dispatcher
Pay Rate Range: $21 - $22.50 per hour
Location: Torrance, CA
Employment Type Available: Part-Time or Full-Time
Full-Time Schedule: 5 days per week, including every other weekend required, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Part-Time Schedule: 1 weekday, plus every other weekend required, 7:45 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be a team player, must provide necessary assistance to ensure system readiness and adherence to quality assurance standards
• Be flexible - your work shift schedule may vary due to the nature of the business
• Coordinate the work and activities of nurses in the field
• Conduct yourself in a courteous, helpful, and professional manner at all times when dealing with patients, co-workers, supervisors, and or the public
• Receive, prioritize, schedule, and dispatch calls in the computer-aided dispatch software (CAD)
• Provide top-tier customer service to medical facilities, the public, and our nurses
• Gather patient billing information and appropriate billing signatures
• Maintain a professional demeanor in the office and while on the phone with patients, clients, and customers
• Dispatch units to scheduled mobile health visits to ensure appropriate medical level of care to patients
• Intakes of call volume and coordinate mobile health units
• Assist clinical team with submission and follow-up of patient care referrals and durable medical equipment requests
• Other tasks assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Proven experience as a dispatcher in a relevant field (EMS/Clinical background is preferred)
• Health care training and certification (preferred)
• Tech-savvy with knowledge of computer-aided dispatch software (CAD)
• Familiar with Athena or similar EMR (preferred)
• Ability to type 60+ words per minute with experience in data entry
• Knowledge of procedures and guidelines for emergency situations
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities
• Active listener with excellent communication skills
• Sound judgment and critical thinking
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to pivot work focus as priorities shift, based on the needs of the business
