If there is one unifying characteristic of everyone on our team, it is the deep desire to make a difference by helping society's most vulnerable and often overlooked individuals. Every day we have the distinct honor and responsibility to show up with non-judgmental compassion to provide hope and healing to those who need it most. For those whose calling it is to serve others, now is your moment to join our mission to provide quality care to every patient with compassion, collaboration, and innovation, to live our mantra to “Always Do The Right Thing!”, and to collectively do our part to heal the world, one patient at a time.

As a Medical Director, your main responsibility is to oversee and monitor all clinical programs, both new and existing ones. You will review and make recommendations to the Hospital Administrator for any changes or additions necessary to ensure the highest quality of patient care. You will also be involved in assessing, planning, linking, monitoring, and advocating for each patient assigned to clinicians in specific departments, while developing and conducting educational programs related to drug and alcohol abuse. Additionally, you will participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning conferences and ensure the delivery of quality mental health care in accordance with hospital protocols.

  • As a Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing supervision and clinical leadership for psychiatric care and practices, including attending multidisciplinary teams and court proceedings, and leading peer review for best practice projects.
  • You will be accountable for physician retention, ongoing review of their performance, and conducting interviews to evaluate their clinical competency.
  • You will coordinate the monthly Medical Student rotation, providing orientation and lectures, arranging case conferences, and providing in-service training as needed to other departments.
  • You will provide direct psychiatric care to patients when needed, including evaluation, psychopharmacologic treatment, psychotherapy, assessment for movement disorders, court evaluations, and discharges, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and patient safety standards.
  • Your role also involves maintaining clinic supplies and equipment for operations, understanding applicable nursing services, and related policies and procedures, including the use of seclusion and restraint and alternative interventions, documentation requirements, disaster and fire procedures, infection control, and risk management.

Education

  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) from an accredited university.

Experience

  • Seven years of professional experience in providing services to persons with psychiatric disabilities, two years of which must have been at the administrative clinical level, assistant director or its equivalent.

  • Licensed in state of employment to practice medicine.
  • Certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology

We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

We encourage you to apply! If you are excited about a role but your experience doesn’t seem to align perfectly with every element of the job description, we encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this, or one of our many other roles.
