Job description
About Advanced Research Medical
Advanced Research Medical is a Medical Device company based in Minnesota that proudly designs and manufactures innovative technologies with the goal of furthering the advancement of minimally-invasive spine surgery. Our flagship product, designed to enable the Oblique Lateral Lumber Interbody Fusion (OLLIF) technique, has allowed spine surgeons across the United States to turn a traditional lumbar fusion that requires 3-4 hours of operating time and 6-8 months of recovery into a 40 minute procedure that only requires 2-6 weeks of recovery.

This role is focused on providing ongoing support to our existing surgeon-users. Your primary responsibilities would be focused in the Burnsville area, but will occasionally require travel to our other locations in Crookston and Alexandria. The Medical Device Representative is tasked with attending surgical cases, providing surgeons and operating room (O.R.) staff information about the technical features and proper use of orthopedic instruments/implants while ensuring all implants, instruments and disposables required for each case are properly prepared and available.
Outside of surgery days, you'll be expected to serve as the principal customer contact regarding technical product support and problem resolution. You'll also occasionally be tasked with providing research and product operations support as needed. Additional opportunities will be provided, as your schedule allows, to be involved in our research and product development efforts.
Responsibilities:
- Surgical Case Support: Provide technical information on the use, application, and available training for products both prior to and during surgical procedures; assist surgeons as required and requested.
- Document every call/incident (inquiry and complaints) and prepare reports regarding any product issues that arise during surgical cases.
- Inventory Management: Ensure product and disposables inventory maintained at sufficient levels to ensure availability of required product for every surgical case; ensure all instrumentation in proper working order and back-up instruments available during every surgery.
- Deliver product sets/kits to and from accounts.
- Assist Operations with returned goods resulting from field service issues.
- Advise and counsel customers on their product needs, as appropriate.
- Maintain product and professional skills competence through training and other available means; participate in continuing education seminars and refresher product/instrumentation training on a periodic basis.
- Ensure that all perioperative data is accurately collected and input into company database.
- Assist, as required, with ongoing research projects.
