Classification Full-Time Hourly: Starting at $17.50/hr
Signing Bonus:of $750 after 60 days and $750 after 6 months.
JOB TYPE: Full time – three nights per week 9pm-9am
Reports to Director of Residential Services
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Residential Support Advocate provides on-going advocate services to shelter and transitional housing residents; coordinate with support service staff in working with clients on safety/action plans; maintain accurate client files; answer help-line calls and coordinate necessary resources; monitor building security and contribute to shelter facility maintenance

1) Direct Client Services- Education of clients on domestic violence and sexual assault, Answering hotline/helpline calls, Assessing eligibility, Offering services, Providing referrals, Crisis Intervention, Crisis de-escalation and management, Facilitating client intakes and exits, Reinforcement of shelter guidelines, Client file documentation, Mandatory reporting
2) Housing Facilities- Minor shelter maintenance and cleaning, Lifting up to 25 lbs., Monitoring security
3) Record Keeping and Data Entry- Enter client records and program data, Monitoring client files, Documentation of all client interactions, Training documentation.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position requires on-site attendance at our community-based Emergency Shelter and is not eligible for telecommuting.
Physical Demands
· Ability to lift 25 lbs.
· Ability to perform routine cleaning requiring lifting, bending and repetitive movements.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full Time overnight, 36 hours per week
Required Education and Experience
1. High School Diploma
2. Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to become certified within 30 days of hire
Preferred Education and Experience
1. Some college or other post-secondary education or training, preferably in human sciences
2. Skills in effective communication, professional boundaries, conflict resolution, problem solving, and crisis management
3. Experience in direct social services and/or knowledge of domestic violence
4. Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
Must be able to pass background check
