Curalta Foot + Ankle is a rapidly-growing integrated network for Foot & Ankle care across NJ, NY, and PA. We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Call Center Representative, reporting to the Revenue Cycle Operations Manager in our Rutherford, NJ Practice Support Center.
Summary:
This position is responsible for answering phone calls from patients, explaining the patient statements, and taking patient payments over the phone, and review statements for accuracy.
Essential Functions, Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Answer inquiries from patients regarding medical bills
- Read patient insurance EOB's
- Review patient statements for accuracy before releasing to the statement vendor
- Explain to patients how the insurance company processed the patient claim
- Explain copay, co-insurance, deductibles, and denials for claims to patients
- Take patient payments over the phone
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
- High School or GED equivalent required
- 3 years' experience working in a medical office answering phones required
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Solid written and oral communications
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
- Spanish speaking a plus
- Resourcefulness, time-management, organization, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Adaptability to healthcare and practice changes in a progressive environment
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
