Medical Call Center Representative

Curalta Foot + Ankle is a rapidly-growing integrated network for Foot & Ankle care across NJ, NY, and PA. We are looking for a Full-Time Medical Call Center Representative, reporting to the Revenue Cycle Operations Manager in our Rutherford, NJ Practice Support Center.

Summary:

This position is responsible for answering phone calls from patients, explaining the patient statements, and taking patient payments over the phone, and review statements for accuracy.

Essential Functions, Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Answer inquiries from patients regarding medical bills
• Read patient insurance EOB's
• Review patient statements for accuracy before releasing to the statement vendor
• Explain to patients how the insurance company processed the patient claim
• Explain copay, co-insurance, deductibles, and denials for claims to patients
• Take patient payments over the phone
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

• High School or GED equivalent required
• 3 years' experience working in a medical office answering phones required

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
• Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
• Spanish speaking a plus
• Resourcefulness, time-management, organization, problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Adaptability to healthcare and practice changes in a progressive environment
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
