Job Summary
The Customer Service Representative position provides service to patients from RadNet East Coast and West Coast facilities. This position is responsible for answering incoming patient phone calls and billing inquiries within a high volume call center environment related to services billed in an efficient, friendly, courteous, tactful, calm and helpful manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Answering incoming patient phone calls and billing inquiries regarding billed services from our East Coast and West Coast facilities in an efficient, friendly, courteous, tactful, calm and helpful manner.
- Responding to patient general inquiries, information updates and billing questions while resolving problems and concerns with accuracy and professionalism.
- Update patient demographics and insurance information as needed.
- Upon obtaining information to facilitate claim payment, enter necessary insurance data and re-file claims with insurance companies.
- Review patient accounts to determine why there is an outstanding balance and effectively explain the details.
- Process payments over the phone from patients.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with patients.
- Explain insurance company's explanation of benefits (EOB).
- Participate in projects/meetings and perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Experience working in a high volume call center.
- Ability to accurately & efficiently work in a fast paced environment.
- Outstanding Customer Service skills; must be able to maintain a tactful demeanor, be compassionate, courteous, and helpful.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task.
- Proficient computer skills; ability to type 30+ WPM and 10-key, and experience with Excel I would say MS Office Word and Outlook. Excel is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills, and the ability to research issues and provide solutions.
- Knowledge of medical insurance processes, terminology and explanation of benefits (EOB).
- Ability to embrace change and respond appropriately even in challenging situations.
- High School Diploma.

Physical Demands
This position often requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting reaching with hands and arms, using hands and fingers, handling, constant talking, and hearing. Visual acuity to read computer screens and written materials. Also, must be able to lift over 10 pounds, occasionally.
Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.00/hr
Working Environment
Representatives work in a medical office setting with low to moderate noise level.
Bilingual Language skills are a plus!
