Medical Billing Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and Medical Billing processes. Duties: - Review and analyze medical documentation to assign appropriate codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems - Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies or government agencies for reimbursement - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies - Maintain patient billing records and update information as necessary - Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes - Stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance - Assist with medical collections as needed - Provide support to the medical office by answering billing-related inquiries Skills: - Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems - Strong knowledge of Medical Billing processes and procedures - Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is a plus - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing practices - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills, both written and verbal - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
