The PT Central Business Office (PTCBO) is dedicated to providing friendly, efficient and effective revenue cycle management (RCM) services to our clients and their patients. Position Summary:
PTCBO has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Biller/Collector to service our growing client list with a primary role in maximizing collections in a timely efficient manner. This is an incredible opportunity for an intelligent, curious and dynamic individual to help serve our growing clients. The position has the responsibility, authority and accountability to get the job done and help us fulfill our promise of industry leading service to our clients. The successful candidate will work closely with our manager and existing team members to meet the client’s needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion
- Work rejections to ensure maximum reimbursement for services
- Review and mail or electronically submit claim
- Post payments according to contract guidelines
- Responsible for all aspects of account follow up and collections, including processing appeals
- Reviews explanation of benefits (EOBs) to ensure proper payment of claims and reports any problems, issues, or payer trends
- Research denied or unpaid claims and resolve issues
- Work Insurance and Patient A/R in a timely manner
- Maintains HIPPA patient confidentiality standards for medical and financial information
- Other Job-related duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS OF CANDIDATES:
- Possess strong organizational and follow up skills
- Strong Knowledge of Excel
- Ability to work under deadlines
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding HCFA 1500
- 3+ years of experience as a medical collector
- Experience with rejected claims, denials, and appeals
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, PPO, HMO, and Workers Comp
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to prioritize and multi task a large work volume with a high level of efficiency and attention to detail
- Dependable and able to work independently
- Detail-orientated
- Shows up to work daily and is prompt
- Positive and encouraging attitude
