Medical Assistant - Willing To Train!

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and thriving Dermatology practice. This busy practice is looking for a highly-organized, outgoing and friendly person to serve as a Medical Assistant. The Medical Assistant will work directly alongside a very busy provider who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases - the Medical Assistant is responsible for managing patient flow, assisting with patient care, demonstrating superior customer service and tackling tasks with the utmost of professionalism. Applicants must be a team player and have the ability to multi-task. Prior medical experience is not required - we are Willing to Train the right person for our team.

This position will be responsible for:

• triaging and rooming patients
• facilitating patient flow
• measuring and recording patient vitals in the EMR
• preparing, cleaning and stocking examination rooms
• assisting with surgical procedures
• returning patient calls
• securing prior authorizations and referrals as needed for medications, treatments and procedures
• educating patients on treatment options
• adhering to procedures for processing and tracking lab specimens and other diagnostic testing
• following protocols for instrument handling, cleaning, packaging, sterilizing and maintenance of autoclave.
• other duties as requested

Applicants must have:

• Prior medical experience, preferred
• Prior experience assisting with biopsies and procedures and knowledge of dermatological medications/treatments, preferred
• Proficient computer skills
• Strong communication skills
• Outgoing and friendly personality
• Professional demeanor
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
