Medical Assistant

Arrow Passage Recovery is a private, for-profit corporation that provides education, counseling, and treatment to persons who are chemically dependent. We treat addictions to alcohol, drugs, and prescription pills. The mission of Arrow Passage Recovery is to help individuals and families reach and maintain sobriety, and to lead lives free from drugs and alcohol, and violent free lifestyles.

The Medical Assistant is responsible for ensuring the well-being of patients and for providing a positive, supportive environment for patients and other staff while working in conjunction with physicians, advanced practitioners, front office and clinical staff.

• Review medical protocols and informed consent documents for compliance
• Maintain and update required supporting quality assurance documentation
• Consult with staff in matters of compliance
• Has a contagious and positive work ethic, inspires others, and models professional behavior.
• Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication that is clear, well-organized, and demonstrates an understanding of audience needs.
• An effective team member who contributes valuable ideas and feedback and can be counted on to meet commitments.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Complete provider orders per medical functions.
• Maintain daily communication with Medical Director, Clinical Director, and Officers regarding patient care.
• Complete vitals and urinalysis on clients as required.
• Assist patients as needed with walking, transfer, specimen collection, exam preparation, etc.
• Complete occupational health testing including such services as urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, and hair testing.
• Comply with and follow policies and procedures as outlined by Arrow Passage Recovery.
• Maintain clinical skills and competency for all procedures, following policy and procedure guidelines.
• Maintain technical skills and apply new knowledge to position according to Arrow Passage Recovery policy.
• Maintain knowledge of Medical Terminology and standards of care.
• Complete all assigned training.
• Assist in maintaining all quality control, clinic inspection, and machine maintenance on a daily basis and report any and all discrepancies appropriately.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA and Department of Health).
• Maintain and comply with all Arrow Passage Recovery site assessment requirements.
• Keep appropriate records.
• Performs duties and other related duties as required and assigned.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.50 - $20.00 per hour
