The Medical Assistant should able to perform or be willing to learn both clinical and administrative office duties by providing support to the physicians, patients and staff through a variety of tasks related to patient care. Must be organized, punctual, dependable, possess excellent written and verbal communication, pay attention to detail and have the ability to multitask.
Job Responsibilities
- Greet and check-in patients.
- Collect Co-pays.
- Verify, enter/update patient demographics.
- Update insurance information.
- Collect and upload patient documents.
- Prepare patient charts for upcoming office visit, document patient histories, pull hospital records, data entry of labs, follow up on test results.
- Room patients; obtain vitals; blood pressure, weight, and temperature; verify and update patient allergies, medications, pharmacy info and record immunizations.
- Check out patient; follow physician in room to scribe and schedule the patients next office visit.
- Schedule imaging and referrals.
- Obtain prior authorizations.
- Complete prescription refills.
- Patient triage via phone.
- Communicate with physicians and staff.
- Prepare, clean and stock exam rooms with the necessary supplies.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)/Registered Medical Assistant(RMA) preferred
- Knowledge of EMR systems and MS Office required
- Previous medical office experience preferred
- Teamwork
