In this role, you will play a pivotal role in helping our patients receive the care and support they need to improve their mental health and overall well-being. As a Medical Assistant at our clinic, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including patient intake, scheduling appointments, taking vitals, administering medications and providing support to our medical team as needed.
We are looking for someone with a strong background in medical assisting, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to those in need.
Who Are We?
The Health Resource Center of Cincinnati, Inc. (HRC), started as a family run agency, is a nurse managed, non-profit, clinic providing affordable health care for low-income, indigent, and homeless adults and transitional youth with serious and chronic mental, emotional, behavioral, and/or substance use disorders. We provide "safety net" social and mental health services including psychiatric, pharmacological, and psychotherapeutic services.

Responsibilities
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation for providers/or clinician, updating patient files, handling correspondence
* Perform basic lab tests and procedures: blood draws, drug testing,
* Assist providers with minor outpatient activities: medication preauthorization, reauthorization, refills, central pharmacy orders
* Maintains a safe and supportive environment by keeping the work area, medication room, and equipment in clean, orderly, and safe manner, ensuring availability and proper functioning of supplies and equipment
* Other duties include, but not limited to, ordering supplies appropriately, tracking referrals, labs and diagnostic tests,
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a provider
* Collect blood, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing
Experience:
- Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
