Cooley Dickinson Medical Group Infectious Disease Care
Our practice is located at 15 Atwood Drive, Suite 201, in Northampton, MA. We aim to provide timely, caring, and thorough evaluation and treatment of patients from Western Massachusetts for all Infectious Diseases. We treat patients in a judgment-free environment that respects all cultures, races, religions, sexual orientations, and lifestyle choices, and our treatment remains focused solely on helping people prevent, treat and manage disease.
Diseases and conditions we treat include:
- Bone infections
- Diarrhea, including Clostridium Difficile (C. diff)
- HIV/AIDS
- Hepatitis
- Illness in returning travelers
- Immunization questions
- IV antibiotic management
- Lyme disease
- Other tick-borne diseases
- Pneumonia
- Tuberculosis
- Urinary tract infections
Role Overview
We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Medical Assistant to support the practice onsite, Monday through Friday. We are open from 8:00am to 5:00pm, so schedules are staggered accordingly. As true partners to our nurses and providers, our Medical Assistants get the opportunity to work autonomously to the top of their education/certification while also functioning as part of the collaborative team. The Medical Assistant will be supporting 3 providers who split their time between inpatient and our practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring efficient patient flow through the office
- Preparing patient charts
- Assisting during office visits (rooming, examinations, procedures, injections, and treatments as directed)
- Performing clinically appropriate tasks related patient panel management (phone calls, test results, prescription refill, coordination of care, etc.)
- Maintaining neat, clean, and safe patient care areas
- Interacting with patients and their families in a professional, friendly manner consistent with their needs.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Medical Assistant certification required (CMA, AAMA, RMA, CNMA, or CCMA)
- CPR certification from a program approved by the American Heart Association required
- Completion of a formal Medical Assistant training program preferred
- Infectious Disease/Specialty Care experience preferred
