The Sleep Disorder Center of Louisiana is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. We are an accredited American Academy of Sleep Medicine practice, which offers the area's only comprehensive sleep center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and assisting healthcare providers in clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures
- Record patient medical history, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately
- Prepare examination rooms and medical instruments for procedures
- Provide patient education on health conditions, medications, and treatment plans
- Assist with medical office administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the medical facility
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and protocols, including HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) a plus
- [1-2 years] of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting preferred
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- CPR certification preferred
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
