Job description

Responsible to complete clinical and administrative tasks within the physician office setting. Job duties may include: patient assessment including vital signs and administration of injections, scheduling and chart preparation, EMR documentation, and other tasks as delegated by the supervisor.

Education
Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Completion of a Certificate/Diploma/Degree Program in a Healthcare related field

Registration/Certification/Licensure:
Family & Friends CPR and Act 33/73 clearances


Experience
Minimum: N/A
Preferred: Two years experience within a physician practice.

I. Specific Job Responsibilities (Essential Functions):


  • Performs patient assessment and physical examination appropriate to age and disability of patient and pertinent to the patient’s condition. Documents findings in EMR.
  • Responsible to schedule patients based on physician availability and/or acuity of patient.
  • Obtains authorizations, updates insurance information and reconciles daily charge sheets in a timely, efficient manner.
  • Prepares patient charts according to physician specific protocols and office schedule.
  • Appropriate utilization of EMR for verification of med refills, call processing and progress notes.

II. Organizational Responsibilities:


  • Completed mandatory education, annual competencies and department specific education within established timeframes.
  • Completed annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
  • Maintained license/certification, registration in good standing throughout fiscal year.
  • Consistently utilizes appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self. Identifies and works to reduce potentially unsafe patient care or other safety practices.
  • Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process and compliance.
