Job Description
The surgery center is looking for a Medical Assistant to add to our growing team. The Medical Assistant plays a pivotal role in the patient care plan. We are looking for a Medical Assistant who possesses the ability to multi-task and problem solve, have strong organizational skills, be self-disciplined, have an ambitious attitude, and excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Assist our board-certified plastic surgeon. This includes rooming patients, taking a brief medical history, assisting with documentation, coordinating surgical procedures, and assisting with in-office procedures.
- Preparing patients for pre-op and assisting the nurse and physician during the pre-op and post-op stages.
- Take out sutures, drains, and review post-op instructions, and provide education.
- Maintain email communication with patients, vendors, and co-workers daily.
- Organize and maintain cleanliness of working areas, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain compliance in accordance with HIPAA, OSHA, and State regulations.
- Assist in administrative duties and other assignments as necessary.
- Answer the phone and book appointments using scheduling system.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a High School diploma, GED, Certificate of Completion, or equivalent achievement
- Completion of Medical Assistant Certificate or completion of Medical Assistant Schooling with one year of experience is preferred, but not necessary.
