Job Description
Type: Six-month contract, opportunity for extension or fulltime offer
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am to 4:30pm
Pay: $21.02 to $23.02 an hour
Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:
· Prepare examination rooms and sterilizing equipment
· Room patients, obtain health history, check vital signs and perform EKGs
· Administer injections and collect specimen
· Document patient care using NextGen electronic medical record software
· Schedule appointments, complete prior authorizations, process medication refills, handle referrals, answer calls and complete paperwork
· Assist physicians and nurse practitioners with minor, in-office procedures
Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:
· High school diploma or GED
· Medical Assistant diploma
· 1+ year of primary care and phlebotomy experience
· 1+ year of recent medication administration experience
