Description
Overall Responsibility
Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of Physician by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Bring patients back to exam rooms, collect vitals and enter into patient chart
- Remove sutures and staples, provide general Wound Care and 1st aid
- Casting/Splinting/Durable Medical Equipment dispensing and documentation
- Blood Draw for PRP under physician supervision
- Enter Labs/Diagnostic Imaging/CPQ's
- Injection Set Up
- Follow up on Work Comp RFA's
- Schedule diagnostic tests and post-test appointments
- Contact insurance companies for pre-certification
- Provide patients with supplies ordered by physician
- Clean and stock exam rooms with supplies
- Call in prescription refills/dispense medications to industrial patients
- Contact post operative patients the day after surgery to follow up, enter notes in patient chart
- Call and confirm appointments for Post tests, labs and Epidural injections
- Check voicemail, telephone encounters, and return calls promptly
- Pull films for surgery cases and save to patient chart ? Clean Instruments/Autoclave/Sharp containers, etc.
- Merging daily chart notes, bubble sheets and scanning for Physicians
- Cover other team members if they are out sick or on vacation
- Act as MA floater when your specific physician is on vacation or when you are caught up with your duties and responsibilities
- May need to travel to other offices when there is a coverage need
- When available and able, translate for patients and office staff
- Address fax inbox
- Complete disability forms
- Run CURES reports

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and twelve to eighteen months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before patients, outside vendors or other employees within the organization. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Mathematical Skills
Basic math skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing figures. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest and percentages.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

The employee in this position needs to frequently move about the office. The employee frequently moves and or transports up to 50 pounds. The employee frequently is required to position self to assist patients and move equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to identify, recognize, observe, inspect both patients and equipment.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office area. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive. Contact involves dealing with sick people and with people in pain. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
