Overview

BerryDunn is seeking a Staff Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group.  As part our consulting team focused on state Medicaid agency clients, you'll leverage your technical skills, problem solving abilities, along with project management to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You'll be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures.

 

You will be remotely hybrid, or office based in Portland, ME, Boston, MA, Charleston, WV, San Juan, PR, Columbus, OH, Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, Jefferson City, MO helping clients nationally with an initial focus on our client in Columbus, OH. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture.

 

Travel Expectations:  Up to 50%

Responsibilities
  • As a Consultant supporting Medicaid, you will build relationships with project team members including client contacts, stakeholders, federal partners, and vendor contacts. You'll also communicate project and delivery status to our clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • You will apply your technical knowledge to recommend solutions and approaches to address challenges within client environments along with reviewing technical materials from systems vendors to help ensure they are technically sound and aligned with industry best practices.
  • As part of a firm that emphasizes lifelong learning, you will develop your own career plan and partner with others to develop yourself and those around you.
  • Participate in marketing and business development activities, such as writing blog posts, attending conferences, participating in industry groups, leading/participating in prospective client business development meetings, reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and assisting with go/no-go decision-making, and developing responses to RFPs-in collaboration with BerryDunn's Business Development team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or years of experience in substitution for a degree
  • Analysis experience (one to two years) in a technically complex environment with a preference for HHS Programs, particularly Medicaid.  
  • Experience with the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Standard 1012-2004 (System and Software Verification and Validation), IEEE 12207 Standard for Information Technology, IEEE 730-2002 Standard Software Quality Assurance Plans, and IEEE 830 Requirements Specifications. 
  • Experience/working knowledge in applying the Waterfall, Agile, Scrum and other industry leading Methodologies on a Software Development Project.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise and business architecture of IT solutions.
  • The ability to translate technical concepts into terms that resonate with business owners, either verbally or in writing.
  • Written and verbal communication and relationship building skills.
  • Working knowledge of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) information security and privacy requirements, specifically the Minimum Acceptable Risk Standards for Exchanges (MARS-E), Version 2.0.
  • Experience with data systems assessments and health informatics.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute, Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Prosci Certified Change Practitioner (CCP), ITIL, Lean Six Sigma and/or other relevant technical certifications.
  • Bilingual, written, and verbal fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
Compensation Details

The base salary range targeted for this role is $60,000 - $85,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
