What you'll be doing:

At Verizon, we don't just wait for the future, we build it. And that is never truer than in our media team. We are seeking a seasoned Media leader to join our passionate team, to help build the future of Local Media for Verizon. Equivalent to an agency Director/VP, this Manager will report into the Associate Director of Media, Local Consumer Mobility and collaborate with the National Mobility team to drive demand for Wireless promotions. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting all Local media and managing initiatives and campaigns across our core Value Proposition and Devices.
As a member of this exciting team, this role will be responsible for shaping the Media Strategy and driving the activation of key Mobility initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own strategy development for large scale initiatives including all media activations.

  • Develop data informed, cross media channel Local media plans

  • Orchestrate implementation and execution of media campaigns

  • Act as the cross-team leader ensuring integration across all aspects of media & engagement teams to define and execute campaigns (Social, Media, Digital COE, Analytics, Sponsorship etc)

  • Collaborate with the Business Unit, Integrated Marketing, Consumer Insights, Marketing Effectiveness and Marketing Activation and Creative teams across organization to deliver across key projects

  • Lead media agency relationship, provide clear briefing and direction

  • Develop and drive measurement plans and learning agenda across all initiatives; manage cross-team delivery of campaign reporting and optimization

  • Identify and implement innovation and thought leadership within campaigns and across the Media Team

  • Oversee media investment management strategy for Mobility (Local)

  • Execute best-in-class budget management including reconciliation and invoice approval

  • Establish and refine processes for executional excellence

  • Understand the competitive landscape, consumer, category to derive data informed insights

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Media Strategy experience: including how to develop a communications strategy using all media touchpoints

  • Expertise in Local media planning & buying across traditional and digital media with a keen focus on drive to retail

  • Leading media teams and/or managing agencies that support multiple campaigns / initiatives simultaneously

  • Driving Improvement in media effectiveness across channels

  • Deep analytical skills to ensure media is driving business performance: strong ability to anchor thinking in key performance indicators and ability to triangulate various data points into actionable insights

  • Understanding of data sources to ensure the internal and agency teams can connect the right data sources to drive performance decisions

Better if you have one of the following:

  • Experience collaborating with creative teams, project management and asset orchestration

  • Experience collaborating and leading, among many different teams and stakeholders

  • Wireless Experience: Knowledge of wireless products & services a plus

  • Client or Media Agency experience within a direct response capacity or retail experience

  • Prior work experience inspiring others in work group to achieve team goals including experience with expertise knowledge transfer

  • Prior work experience guiding a team of direct reports to achieve performance goals and objectives

  • Passion for the consumer experience and audience first approach

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and collaboration skills

  • Strong Project Management discipline demonstrated by a history of on-time and on-budget launches; deadline oriented

  • Ability to balance day to day tactical issues with strategic initiatives

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - deliver clear presentations at senior levels

  • Relationship driven - builds credible and trusting relationships with a broad range of colleagues, stakeholders and business partners

  • High-energy person who can successfully manage multiple high-visibility, complex technical projects

  • Ability to understand business strategies and translate the desired business outcomes to media actions

  • Resilience in a fast-paced and performance-oriented environment

  • Ability to manage through ambiguity and balance multiple dynamic priorities

  • Passion for driving results and innovating along the way

  • Influential storytelling skills, written and verbal

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $118,000.00 and $218,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
