General Notes
A total of four vacancies are available, with an intended start date no later than January 2024. This position may be filled at a higher-level title, relative to experience and qualifications of the selected candidate. Relocation assistance may be available.
Purpose
The Mechanical Systems Engineer designs, implements, and executes research related to advancing semiconductor technology and manufacturing.
Responsibilities
- Designs, fabricates, assembles and tests equipment systems.
- Creates and maintains up-to-date CADs of equipment systems.
- Assists with researching and procuring various equipment sub-systems.
- Compiles reports on costs and inventory levels.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, precision Systems Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Three years of relevant experience, including at least one year of prior work experience in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, precision Systems Engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
- Prior experience with standard aspects of equipment development, including CAD software, and modeling and simulation software.
- Goal-oriented and demonstrated ability to prioritize and multitask.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in teams.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, controls, precision Systems Engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
- Prior experience in nanofabrication, precision machine design, mechatronics, systems and controls, instrumentation, or optical systems design.
- Experience working in a research or start-up environment.
Salary Range
$95,000 + depending on qualifications
Working Conditions
- Work is performed on-site in a scientific research environment, with dynamic work conditions and frequent interruptions.
- Work outside standard office hours could be required on an occasional basis during peak periods and special events.
