Job Summary:
The Mechanical Shop Apprentice is an entry level position in the Mechanical Shop responsible for working with any of the Shop departments as job conditions determine.
The Details:Position Type: SeasonalSeason End Date: 1 year from hire.Pay: $18.60 hourly Schedule: 4 days a week 10 hours a day.

Responsibilities:
- Fully understand and support Xanterra's Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Cleans parts and preps them for assembly, using either chemical or mechanical means as appropriate.
- Works alongside mechanics or tradesman to assist in equipment repair as directed.
- Assists in the prepping and/or painting of equipment.
- Follows company safety policies and procedures, including Blue Signal Protection of Workmen, Lock Out Tag Out, Fall protection, respiratory protection, and confined space.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid/clear Arizona Driver's License and comply with Xanterra/GCR Vehicle/Equipment Policy.
- Must have good Mechanical Aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Must be 18 years old or older.
Physical Requirements include:
- Constantly listening, hearing, seeing, standing, walking, using eye/hand coordination, handling, reaching outward, and using wrist motion.
- Reaching above the shoulder, bending, lifting, or carrying up to (50) lbs.
- Occasionally sit, climb, crawl, squat or kneel, lift/carry and push or pull up to ( 100)lbs.
- Will be required to stand for long periods of time and to occasionally walk-up flights of stairs and climb ladders.
