Job Description
Geotechnical Consultants, Inc. (GCI), is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join our Program Management team within the greater Orlando area of Florida but primarily at the Orlando International Airport.

IMPORTANT: Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain airport security badge.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform responsible technical quality assurance inspections for mechanical work on new and existing commercial and industrial buildings airport wide. Electrical, plumbing, fire safety including fire sprinklers, fire and smoke alarm systems, smoke control systems and fire exits, and other building systems inspection experience is a plus. This work will involve weekend and night work as necessary.
- Interface with and notify supervisors, contractors, and subordinates of any/all issues which may affect the project.
- Maintain effective relationships with the Owner, Contractors, and the public.
- Review plans, specifications, provisions, submittals, shop drawings, and other controlling documents to ensure contractor compliance with same.
- Monitor daily contractor and subcontractor on-site construction activities.
- Recognize, evaluate, and properly resolve problems or conditions.
- Document all daily events affecting the project.
- Inspect materials for conformance with specifications and submittals.
- Photograph, enter / log and maintain observed contractor work into a tracking system.
- Perform and/or coordinate the testing of materials and work.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school diploma plus 10 years of progressive on-the-job inspection experience in large scale commercial projects.
- Any combination of Plan Review (PX) or Commercial Building Inspection (BN) is a plus.
- Must possess and maintain one or more of the following:
- Knowledge of the Uniform Mechanical Code, the Uniform Plumbing Code and all applicable State of Florida and City of Orlando mechanical codes required.
- International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) Plumbing and Mechanical Inspector certifications, or
- International Code Council (ICC) as a Commercial Mechanical.

Hourly Wage: Up to $115,000.00 /year depending upon qualifications.
Job Type: Full-time
Required education: High school or equivalent.
Required experience: Construction Inspection: Commercial Building: 5 years.
Required licenses or certifications: Driver’s License with clean driving record, BCAIB and/or BN/PX desirable.
