We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for preparing technical documentation, interpreting vendor information and reviewing mechanical equipment on front end (FEED) and detailed design projects. Also responsible for interfacing with clients, project management, suppliers, other disciplines and the delivery of technical documents.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare data sheets, specifications, drawings and mechanical calculations for static and rotating equipment (tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, fans, etc.).
- Prepare material requisitions.
- Review and evaluate/tabulate vendor proposals of equipment to make supply recommendation.
- Review and approve vendor equipment documentation (calculations, drawings, procedures, etc.).
- Coordinate engineering scope in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers, and contractors.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering
- PE license or ability to obtain within one year preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience
- Basic AutoCAD drafting experience
- Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII Division 1
- Experience with engineering and design of pressure vessels (distillation columns, reactors, etc.), heat exchangers and tanks
- Experience with API 650 Standard for storage tanks
- Experience with TEMA standards for shell and tube heat exchangers
- Experience with COMPRESS software, or similar, for pressure vessel design is a plus
- Experience with rotating equipment, i.e. pumps, compressors and fans is mandatory
- Experience with Refinery, Petrochemical, and Chemical plant equipment is mandatory
- Experience in hydraulic calculations and piping engineering (pipe stress analysis, pipe support design, piping material specifications) is a plus
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
