CPH has an opening in our Green Bay, WI location for the following position:
Mechanical EngineerP.E. with 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial design. This position may be eligible for remote flexibility.
Hiring Bonus of $5,000 for selected candidate!Job Description: Design and draft Mechanical Engineering systems for a variety of project types including commercial, government, restaurant, industrial, retail centers, office buildings, site/street lighting, and lift stations. Assist on multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate with other engineering disciplines to complete tasks on schedule and on budget. Ideal candidate is self-motivated and works effectively in a team or individual situations. Must have excellent communication skills and able to prioritize work activities.
Duties Include
- Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection, for various civil engineering and architectural projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform engineering calculations to determine system requirements, load calculations, and equipment selections.
- Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents using industry-standard software and design tools.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, civil engineers, and electrical engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into overall project designs.
- Ensure that mechanical designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations, including state Building Codes and ASHRAE guidelines.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing mechanical systems and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
- Review and evaluate mechanical submittals, shop drawings, and equipment selections for compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, ensuring the accuracy and quality of their work.
- Coordinate with external stakeholders, such as contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate the successful implementation of mechanical systems.
- Perform system commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting to verify performance and resolve any operational issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Wisconsin, with a specialization in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, preferably within a civil engineering or architecture firm.
- Strong expertise in designing HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems.
- Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or Revit, for mechanical design and documentation.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including Florida Building Codes, ASHRAE, and NFPA.
- Experience with energy modeling, sustainability, and LEED certification is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage Mechanical Engineering projects from concept through construction.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed engineering decisions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality work within established deadlines.
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to project sites and work on-site as required.
- Valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
