- Conduct analysis of new design solutions to validate capability and functionality;
- Provide direction to shop associates or external fabricators for manufacturing mock-ups and rapid prototype models;
- Perform hands-on evaluation and testing of prototype components and systems;
- Root cause analysis of issues to provide data driven resolution to problems.
- Select appropriate materials and finishes to meet the desired quality, performance, manufacturability and cost.
- Create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings for components/assemblies within SolidWorks, conducting tolerance analysis and utilizing GD&T as appropriate;
- Clearly communicate design concepts, changes, and testing results to internal and external team members and stakeholders;
- Support assignment of part numbers, creation of bill of materials, and other component/assembly parameters for entry and use in engineering documentation and business systems, including documentation release within a PLM system;
